About

Joel and PatrickThe Name Knubz really does not have any significance.  It is a domain that I found years ago. The reason I picked it was because it was the shortest domain name I could find that actually sounded like a word.    It was going to be for a blog about vanity license plates.  There are a lot of them that are really interesting.  Each of the plates was what I called a Knubz.  Again no real reason why.   Then I thought that Knubz would be a good name for a social media network.  People could join and post their Knubz or their little stories.  That seemed like something that was out of my capability to create.

What I ended up deciding to do with Knubz is making it about the world Patrick and  I live in.  I go around mostly with my son Patrick and take pictures of the stuff we see.   Most of the pictures are taken on nature walks we go on.  They may also be from where ever we are at.

The pictures are not the only think that we do here.  I am also going to write what I basically will call a life blog.  It is going to be about what is going on in our life and what things we do.

I have been on this planet for over 50 years.  I have had a pretty decent life.  As with everyone there are things that do not go as planned.  Some of those things that did not go as planned were very difficult to deal with.  I have had career situations that did not work out very well.  I have had some that worked out alright.  There have been some significant challenges that have taken all my energy to deal with.  Some of my current situations and struggles have drove me to look for a new path.  Knubz is going to be part of that path.

Patrick is my son.  He was born in 2001.  When he was three he was diagnosed with Autism.  Patrick is unable to talk and has difficult in several different social situations.  He can understand everything we tell him.  He is unable to write or to type.  We have tried everything and so far have not hit the right combination to allow him to directly communicate with us.  He does get his point across when he is hungry or wants something.    Patrick is a very interesting and unique person.  90 percent of the time he is one of the happiest people on Earth.  That other 10 percent is a challenge.

Thing are what they are.  This is our story and how we go about life.  If you want to join us for the ride.  Then follow along.  We will be happy to say HI and answer any questions you may have.
